Tara rafting is very popular on Tara River. It is also one of the most popular things to do in Montenegro. The Tara River cuts the Tara River Canyon, the longest canyon in Montenegro and Europe and second longest in the world after Grand Canyon in USA, at 78 kilometers in length and 1,300 meters at its deepest. The canyon is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is a part of Durmitor National Park. Its average water depth is 1073 meters. This is one of the rare untouched reserves for wildlife and plants .
The Tara river is navigable by boats, kayaks, canoes, hydrospeed boats, and other vessels made up of almost 100 of kilometres in length.
Program:
Departure from Tivat. A quick stop will be made above the Boka to witness breathtaking views of the bay, followed by a stop above Slano Jezero near Niksic. The trip will continue with a break in an etno village Izlazak, where the view of lake Piva is unforgettable. Upon arrival to the camp, guests will receive rafting equipment and will be transported by Jeeps to the beginning of the rafting route (a few kilometres from the camp). Completing the rafting route will take between 60-180 minutes, depending on the speed of the river’s currents and stops made at the eye catching sites at Tara. Upon completing the rafting, guests will return to the camp where dinner will be served, followed by the return to Tivat.
